It is going to be 1912 all over again once construction of the Titanic replica, the Titanic II, wraps up.
As the construction kicked off for the Titanic II, Australian businessman Clive Palmer revealed that many have submitted intentions of working for the cruise ship, including the most coveted post of captain. Palmer said that eight people have already submitted curriculum vitaes for the captain position.
“Some of (the applicants) are cruise ship captains and some are super tanker captains,” the business mogul announced.
Titanic II is also on the lookout for an activities director. This is one of the best jobs on a cruise ship since there will be so many activities on board.
Offering 20-course dinners for first class passengers and adding a touch of 1912 cuisine to its menu, the ship will surely make its food and beverage director enjoy the time of his life.
Costing £400 million to build, the Titanic II will include The Cafe de Parisien, ‘third class’ dining rooms, Turkish baths, Edwardian gym, and other facilities found in the original ship. Of course this time, there will be a safety deck with more lifeboats, a new high-tech engine, service lifts, and air-conditioning.
Clive Palmer is determined that the project will be up and running soon despite ambitious plans and high cost.
“This is not a fantasy, this is not a movie. This is going to happen,” a confident Palmer told the DailyMail.
